Leadership is communicating a person’s worth and potential so clearly that they are inspired to see it in themselves.”      - Dr. Stephen R. Covey

The Leader in Me process is designed to help teachers develop leadership skills in their students. Helping students discover their own strengths allows teachers to find opportunities for every child to shine – to be a leader.  Teachers are incorporating the     common language of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, by  Dr. Stephen R. Covey, into all curriculum areas.

A crucial part of this process is that it is used school wide – everywhere, all the time. Students get the leadership message from everyone throughout the school day. As the children begin to understand and use the 7 Habits, they become more motivated,     organized, engaged and take ownership of their learning. This process helps prepare our students to meet the challenges and  opportunities of the twenty first century.  By teaching principle-based leadership skills, our students strengthen their ability to think for themselves, take initiative, synergize with others, and feel empowered to solve problems.
